The use of aluminum will further increase in the production of cars in order to save weight. In our Fieldlab we are testing aluminum welding with a robot spot welding cell, equipped with welding controls and robot-servo technology. This enables us to gain knowledge and test the applications.
Six robots are standing next to each other; four ABB robots, one Fanuc and one Yaskawa. These robots are used for robotics developments, weld tests and pre-series. Often, these activities are aimed at accelerating the realization of projects. We also use these robots for educational purposes.
Collaborative Robots (Cobots) are a new innovation in robotics: Robots that are safe for people to work with. Cobots offer different possibilities from conventional robots. This means that cobots are used for entirely different applications. We develop these applications in our Fieldlab.

After production, the products are transported internally to our logistics center where we have access to 5500 pallet places. These products go from here to the paint shop and after painting directly to our customer.

This is the Toyota Human Support Robot (HSR). (PhD-) students and engineers are working on him so he can perform everyday tasks. Tech United hopes to expand the robot team with HSR upcoming year and participate in the RoboCup@Home Domestic Standard Platform League.
AMIGO means Autonomous Mate for IntelliGent Operations. He is the care robot of Tech United. To orientate in the domestic environment AMIGO uses three laser range finders and a Kinect-camera so he can see in 3D.
This Second Edition Robot for Generic Indoor Operations (SERGIO) was built based upon improvements for AMIGO. The development of SERGIO is not finished yet, but he already joined some tournaments. SERGIO still misses his arms and body caps.

Vectioneer Motorcortex fully supports EtherCAT for real-time communication with slave devices such as digital and analog inputs and outputs, servo-drives and intelligent devices such as cameras. Support for other popular bus systems like ProfNET, CAN or LIN is under development.
Applications built with Motorcortex have allow a fully dynamic simulation of the target machine hardware to be integrated into the control system itself. This simulation also runs in real-time and makes it possible to test the complete control system
without requiring access to the real hardware. This easily saves 90% of the usual time spent on site for installation and commissioning of the system. As an additional beneft this simulation environment can be used for operator training and machine troubleshooting.

Motorcortex-Sim is an advanced control application for flight-, driving- or medical simulator motion systems. It provides real time control for servo-hydraulic or -electric motion systems, as well as state-of-the-art motion cueing algorithms.
It complies with the highest
standards for flight simulators; Level-D (MILSTD 1558, FAA AC 120-40/63, JAR STD-1A/H). Vectioneer already upgraded control systems for flight simulator motion systems for Lufthansa Aviation Training, Etihad Airways, USMarine Corps (CH-53 helicopter) and others.

For true Industry 4.0 applications it is necessary that control systems allow distribution of tasks across devices and sites. Motorcortex is currently the only Industrial Control System that allows distributed control without additional top-level servers.
An application of a distributed control system is where various machines share the same resources and have to manage among each other who has access to the resource when. At Lufthansa Aviation Training three simulators share the same Hydraulic system and Motorcortex makes it work.

To provide the required level of realism and prevent simulator sickness, it is essential that the visual scene motion is perfectly synchronized with the motion of the simulator. Another job for Motorcortex.
This is our in house training arena where we test our robots, have soccer training and check results of development and improvements. Because of the net it can also be used as a drone arena.
In this robot cell we produce 4 different products. These assemblies are built into a dashboard of a truck as a carrier for electronic equipment.
In total, we produce about 45,000 compositions per year at this workplace. In the foreground the mold in production, the molds of the 3 sister products are in the rack
This robot continuously changes with two molds, in which a total of thirty spot welding operations per product are carried out.
With these operations, 9 semi-finished products from our own factory are welded together into one composition. Every year the robot performs 1,250,000 operations with high accuracy.
In the foreground a complete composition. Not only the speed of the installation is important because of the high numbers requested, the accuracy is also very important.
Delivered products must, without exception, include all required spot welds and spot weld nuts in order not to put the customer's assembly line in trouble.
Thanks to a high level of automation with more than 1200 industrial robots we have an installed production capacity of around 200,000 vehicles per year in a two-shift system.
